This small but beautiful jewelry chest is from Peru’s Ortiz Family; they work in the time-honored art form of reverse-painted glass. Featuring two drawers and an upper compartment with a mirror, the wooden chest is covered with glass panes that have been painted on their reverse sides with detailed motifs in earthy shades of ocher, buff, amber and grey. Gleaming gold paint is applied to the trim.
