Making wool carpets in Uzbekistans Surxondaryo region is a time-consuming and highly skilled craft often passed down through generations. These rugs are renowned for their intricate patterns, vibrant colors and exceptional quality, making them highly sought after in the global market. For this fascinating design from Tavochi Art boasting geometric motifs, artisans meticulously knot dyed wool yarns on vertical looms, creating the pile of the carpet. Then, the rug is trimmed to achieve an even surface, which is later sheared to create an even pile height. Finally, the carpet is washed, dried, stretched and given the finishing touches. Eye-catching and unique, it becomes the perfect accent piece for your home.
