She decorates it with striped and geometric patterns in a combination of black, white, and copper fibers colored with 100% natural dyes. It’s finished in a delicate macram fringe.

The artisan was born into Teotitlan del Valle’s rich Zapotec textile traditions. She works using traditional techniques and natural materials and dyes that she sources locally.
