This petite decorative box by Maria Estela Perlera de Portillo is beautifully hand-painted. Working in bright tropical colors, the Salvadoran artisan creates a lively scene, featuring birds, animals, flowers, and mountains, some in low relief. The motifs come to life in the characteristic style of La Palma, which centers around themes like peace, love, and community.

Maria Estela Perlera de Portillo started her workshop alongside her husband. After he passed away, she decided to take the reins of the family business and continue to grow it.
