Hand crafted from papier mache, Fida Hussain’s decorative egg-shaped box is a unique twist on a universally popular art form. The Indian artisan begins by pasting layers of paper around an egg-shaped mold before hand painting the dried surface with a golden leaf motif on a black and teal background. Inside, a glossy black coating provides a discreet place for coins, trinkets, and baubles.
